The result of the move request was: Moved to Battle of Ray (811). (closed by non-admin page mover) -- Maddy from Celeste (WAVEDASH) 15:50, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
Battle of Rayy → Battle of Ray (Fourth Fitna) – The name of the city in which this battle took place is more commonly spelt Ray rather than Rayy. There was another Battle of Ray in 651, so (Fourth Fitna) should be added to the page title to differentiate between the two. I am also requesting the Battle of Ray page be moved to Battle of Ray (651). Medarduss (talk) 14:14, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
- Comment If we are to drop the second "Y", I would prefer to differentiate the two battles consistently using dates, using "Battle of Ray (811)". This could be more comprehensible to the general reader. PatGallacher (talk) 23:13, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
- That would make sense; I requested the move to "Batte of Ray (Fourth Fitna)" because I thought it gave a more easily identifiable context than the year, but for consistency's sake I agree that "Battle of Ray (811)" is best. Medarduss (talk) 00:59, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
- Support "Battle of Ray (811)". Srnec (talk) 00:05, 15 April 2023 (UTC)
